The body of a Montgomery County woman was discovered on the side of the road in Bensalem Tuesday morning, according to multiple reports.
The Intelligencer reports that the body was found around 10 a.m. on Mill Road near State Road and is that of Stephanie Machen, 25, of Norristown.
Bensalem Director of Public Safety Fred Harran told the newspaper that it appeared Machen died of a drug overdose and her body was dumped near the road earlier that morning.
Harran also told the newspaper that law enforcement learned she had a history of drug abuse and her death is a reminder of the serious drug problem in the region.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, an official cause of death has not yet been determined as authorities are still investigating.
