A 47-year-old man and 43-year-old woman were found dead inside their apartment in Abington, Pennsylvania on Aug. 10, 2020, Montgomery County prosecutors said.
A husband and wife who were found dead Monday morning inside a locked apartment in Abington Township were killed in a murder-suicide, Montgomery County prosecutors said Tuesday.
Around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Abington police responded to an apartment in the 800 block of Meadowbrook Drive, where a call had been made by the Meadowbrook Apartments management team. Other residents at the apartment complex had complained of an odor, investigators said.
When officers entered the apartment, they found 43-year-old Nadege St. Prieux and a 47-year-old Terrence Cheatham both deceased from gunshot wounds. St. Prieux had been shot several times. Cheatham had one gunshot wound to the head, according to autopsy results announced Tuesday.
Investigators said the couple were the only occupants of the apartment and the gun was recovered at the scene nearby Cheatham's body.
Montgomery County prosecutors have reported a significant uptick in domestic violence incidents since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
