Cocktails Against Cancer chooses retro theme for 2016 fundraiser

Rock the sock hop for a good cause

The ninth annual Cocktails Against Cancer fundraising event will be held on Sept. 24. The 2016 theme is "Jukebox Boogie," reminiscent of a 1950s sock hop.

Attendees are encouraged to go retro for the night and dress in '50s fashion. Prepare to do the hand jive, the cha cha, the jitterbug and boogie-woogie through the night.

Tickets for the event are $65 per person online ($75 at the door). Wine, beer, cocktails, light fare and the night's entertainment are included in admission.

All proceeds from Cocktails for Cancer benefit organizations that aim to improve the lives of those battling cancer in the Philadelphia community.

The beneficiaries include: Philadelphia Ronald McDonald Camp, Cancer Support Community of Greater Philadelphia, Bringing Hope Home and Breathing Room Foundation.
