Philly native Kuf Knotz.

Local hip-hop artist Kuf Knotz is looking to spread happiness with his latest album, "A Positive Light." Set to release Tuesday, March 24, the album has a range of influences, from the golden era of hip-hop to world music, reggae and soul.

Knotz will celebrate the release of his new album with a hometown show at Franky Bradley's Saturday, March 28. Joining him for the show is soul-hop trio Chalk & The Beige Americans and pop artist Brielle. Though the Philly native now splits his time between here and New York City, he's returning to his roots for this special show.

The first single from "A Positive Light," "Get Free," is a laid-back tune celebrating peace and freedom that just screams "summer." Kuf Knotz's inspirations run from his grandmother's gospel singing and his brother's rapping to Philly artists like DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Roots. He's now using his blended style to spread positivity with this new release from Ropeadope Records.

Kuf Knotz, who signed with Drexel's Mad Dragon Records in 2010, has opened for Lauryn Hill, Common, Dr. Dog and The Roots. He recorded the song "Unstoppable" with G. Love, dubbed the World Series theme song for the Phillies in 2008.
