One anonymous phone call and a large check has made nearly 200 people very, very happy this holiday season.
Earlier this week, a person who identified him or herself as "Santa B" called a store manager at a Walmart in Everett, Pennsylvania – about halfway between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh – to tell him that he wanted to pay off the cost of all the items kept in layaway, CNN reported.
The total amount? $46,265.59.
After the store anonymously got the check on Wednesday, Manager Ryan Kennedy was able to ring up 194 people to tell them their layaway accounts were now paid off.
CNBC reported that it's the third year in the row that the anonymous donor has donated to a Walmart in Pennsylvania.
Sandy Terry who saved $75 after she put her grandson's Xbox on layaway, told CNBC that she wasn't sure how she was going to come up with the rest of the money.
"I'm just so thankful that he's going to get it this year," she told the news station. "Thank you so much to [the person who] paid it off for me."
