Police released surveillance video Thursday hoping the public can identify a couple who swiped a purse from an elderly woman inside a Northeast Philadelphia supermarket.
The theft occurred Friday around 9 p.m. at the Giant Food Store located at 2550 Grant Avenue.
A victim, an 84-year-old woman, told police that her purse was in her shopping cart when an unknown person took it.
Authorities were able to retrieve security footage that depicted the crime. The video shows a male suspect distracting the victim while a female suspect takes the purse.
Police said the couple fled the area in a silver, two-door car.
