The Eagles confirmed that they have interviewed their sixth applicant for their head coaching vacancy, one Mr. Thomas Coughlin. The five previous interviewees were (in chronological order): Eagles running back coach Duce Staley, Eagles offensive coordinator / interim head coach Pat Shurmur, Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase (Gase was hired by the Dolphins to be their head coach), Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, and Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson.

When NFL teams are looking for a new head coach and a guy with a Super Bowl background emerges (Jon Gruden and Bill Cowher being two recent examples), it is often pointed out that in the history of the NFL, no head coach has ever won a Super Bowl with two different teams.

The Eagles announced that they interviewed Doug Pederson today for their head coaching vacancy. It was widely reported that Pederson would be interviewing with the Birds after the Chiefs' wildcard round game, but their announcement makes it official that it has indeed happened.

According to multiple sources, the Eagles came away with a favorable impression of Adam Gase after their meeting. The Eagles seemingly weren't so impressed, however, that they were willing to quell their search elsewhere and aggressively try to lock down Gase.

DeSean Jackson has been quiet about Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles recently. He did not say anything bad about his former team or coach leading up to the Eagles' and Redskins' Week 16 showdown a couple weeks ago, a game that put the final finishing touches on Kelly's tenure with the Birds.
