Week 3 NFL picks

For the gambling degenerates, here are my Week 3 picks. To note, the helmets indicate who I think will win the game, not cover the spread. At the end of the picks, I'll note a few teams that I like based on the spread.

Film breakdown: How did ILB Jordan Hicks look?

With news that Kiko Alonso will be out for some time with a partially torn ACL and Mychal Kendricks potentially on the shelf this week with a hamstring strain, rookie third round pick Jordan Hicks will need fill in at ILB for the Eagles. Against the Cowboys last Sunday, Hicks played well in relief of Alonso and Kendricks, racking up seven tackles and a sack/fumble of Tony Romo that led to an Eagles turnover. Eagles aren't getting much production from Chip Kelly's draft picks

Since Chip Kelly became the Eagles' head coach, the Eagles have made 21 draft picks. Only 10 were active Week 2 against the Cowboys, and only five were starters. Exclusive: Sean Lee breaks down the Eagles' playbook

Sean Lee pointed to my monitor and said, "Turn up the volume here." So I did, as Sam Bradford barked out his cadence. "Ready, down, hut hut hut hut," Bradford called out on my computer screen, when Lee exclaimed "NOW!" at the exact moment the Eagles snapped the football. All four of the Cowboys' defensive linemen seemed to know when the snap was coming too, as they charged off the line of scrimmage, beating the blocks of the Eagles' offensive linemen for a loss of five yards.

Eagles should learn how to catch the football, a gif recap

Since Chip Kelly became the head coach in Philly, the Eagles have invested heavily in pass catchers, both via the draft and signing players to lucrative contracts. In return, the Eagles are getting terrible play from their pass catchers, who have not demonstrated the ability to, you know, catch the football.

Sam Bradford was inaccurate against the Cowboys, in gif form

The Eagles' loss to the Cowboys yesterday was so gross that Eagles fans are almost dumbfounded, looking for answers. Was it scheme? Is Chip Kelly way in over his head in the NFL? Is there some kind of grand answer to the Eagles' problems? Personally, I just don't think the Eagles made any plays offensively, easy or hard. They simply stunk. The Eagles couldn't catch, they absolutely couldn't block, and Sam Bradford didn't throw the ball well, as we'll show below.
