Playland's Castaway Cove, the amusement park on the Ocean City boardwalk, has proposed building a new family-friendly roller coaster to add to its collection of rides. The park's arcade and landmark pirate ship entrance were destroyed by a fire in January 2021.

Feline Frenzy Thrift Shop and Adopt is a new nonprofit in North Wales, Montgomery County that accepts donations of clothing and other items that are sold in the store to support the mission. The store, run by Maura Shuttleworth, includes a gated area where customers can spend time with cats and kittens, which are available for adoption. People surrendering cats must call in advance to book appointments for drop off. The rescue also has a cat shelter in Perkiomenville.

Conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson and FOX News parted on Monday and the the final episode of 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' featured an interview last Friday with pizza delivery driver Tyler Morrell. The Cocco's Pizza employee who tripping a suspected car thief while delivering a pizza in Delaware County. Morrell assist to the cops was caught on camera.

Pennsylvania State Police are searching for Bam Margera, the former MTV celebrity and "Jackass" star who was involved in an alleged disturbance in Pocopson Township, Chester County on April 22, authorities said. Margera allegedly caused minor injuries to an unnamed person and then fled into a wooded area before authorities arrived, police said.

Libertee Grounds, the Philadelphia bar with mini golf and a long list of hyperlocal beers, will soon be adding another nine holes in an expanded space. The addition also will include a new golf simulator, another bar, a private event space and a lounge area. The back nine of the golf course is expected to open in fall 2023 at 1600 West Girard Ave.

The boiler at the B.L. England Power Plant in Beasley's Point, New Jersey was demolished on Friday morning. The building is one of several structures being cleared to make way for future development. Last September, the cooling tower at the site was imploded. A smokestack at the site will be brought down at a later date. Beesley's Point Development Group, which purchased the property last year, is exploring the redevelopment of the 350-acre site as a possible marina with a hotel, restaurants and shops.

Dorney Park will require chaperones for guests younger than 16 when the amusement park opens on May 12, 2023. The new rule will take effect daily at 4 p.m. Chaperones must be at least 21, and one chaperone can supervise groups of as many as 10 teens.

The Pennsylvania SPCA is investigating an apparent opioid overdose suffered by a dog that was found unresponsive with an unconscious person in Kensington on Monday. The person was cared for by Philadelphia police and the dog was rushed to a veterinary clinic, where it was administered Narcan. The dog responded to the overdose reversal drug and has since made a full recovery. It's unclear how the dog ingested the drug.

Studies about marijuana use in recent years have attempted to gain more insight into common stereotypes about the drug, which has gained more mainstream acceptance and emerged as a growing medical treatment for a wide range of conditions. Cannabis is widely associated with creativity, but is this supported by evidence? Conversely, many people believe weed makes people lazy and unmotivated. A rapid test for mpox, previously known as monkeypox, has been developed by researchers at Penn State University. The test is undergoing clinical analysis before it is made commercially available. The virus is typically transmitted by skin-to-skin contact and causes painful lesions. Last year's outbreak reached more than 100 countries and infected nearly 87,000 people globally. About one-third of the reported cases were in the U.S., where vaccine shortages and limited testing capacity slowed efforts to contain the spread of mpox.
