WATCH: Nutter performs 'Rapper's Delight' for final time as mayor with The Sugarhill Gang

He drops the mic, of course

Politics aside, soon-to-be former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter will be remembered for one thing during his two-term administration: his love of The Sugarhill Gang.

More specifically, he'll be remembered for his love of the group's 1979 hit "Rapper's Delight." Nutter has performed the song at several city events over the course of the past eight years.

On Saturday night, before mayor-elect Jim Kenney is sworn in on Monday to replace him, Nutter was joined by members of The Sugarhill Gang on stage at his going away party at Hamilton Hall, a University of the Arts building.

And for the final time as the city's chief executive, he sang "the hip, hip a hop, and you don't stop, a rock it..."
