You can only make one first impression so the Democratic National Convention Committee turned to a local boy to kick off the event with a performance of the national anthem.
Bobby Hill, of Philadelphia's Keystone State Boychoir, delivered a stunning rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" on the first night of the DNC.
After his performance, Hill took to Twitter to acknowledge his fans.
It was such an honor to sing the National Anthem @DemConvention today! https://t.co/4J7xrAHAGd

The 14-year-old singer is familiar with the limelight.
When Pope Francis visited the city last year, Hill wowed the pontiff and the crowd by singing "Pie Jesu" and gained national attention in the process.
On a night that included performances by Boyz II Men, Paul Simon and Demi Lovato, Hill more than held his own.
