Philadelphia police are searching for a gunman after an 81-year-old woman was fatally shot Saturday morning at her grocery store in South Philadelphia.

Authorities said the shooting occurred around 8:53 a.m. at Marie's Grocery Store, located at the intersection of Titan and South 6th Streets.

The victim, identified as 81-year-old store owner Marie Buck, sustained multiple gunshut wounds and was transported to Jefferson Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after 9:00 a.m.

Police described the suspect as a male dressed in all black and wearing a hood.

A motive in the shooting remains unknown pending further investigation.
