One of Hot Diggity's creative and delicious offerings.

After 3 1/2 years serving franks from its location on 630 South Street, Philly.com reports that Keith Garabedian is shutting down his hot dog emporium, Hot Diggity.

Despite Hot Diggity's reputation as a popular place with a plentiful variety of franks, including vegan dogs, Garabedian cited financial and personal considerations as reasons for closing the joint.

"I loved working at Hot Diggity," he said. "I loved bringing hot dogs to Philadelphia in a new and different way. Most of all I will miss our staff and our amazing customers."

A lengthy farewell letter was posted in the shop's window as Garabedian turns his attention to selling the shop's remaining equipment. The store can be contacted for any inquiries.

Though Garabedian is not sure what will happen moving forward, Hot Diggity's Facebook page will remain active as a place for hot dog history and recipes.
