A Norristown man has been arrested and charged for the distribution of child pornography, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
Victor William Bennett Jr., 30, was arrested after Abington Township Police Detective Richard Beaghley began an undercover exchange online.
According to authorities, another user shared 44 videos and 37 images with Beaghley of children engaging in sexual acts and poses.
This led to authorities obtaining a warrant for Bennett's home in June where they took several computer-related items, including a computer that contained child pornography files on the hard drive.
Bennett was arrested on Friday and has been charged with 81 counts of distribution of child pornography, 31 counts of possession of child pornography, and criminal use of a communication facility.
He was jailed on $50,000 unsecured bail and waived his right to a preliminary hearing. An arraignment is pending.
