A person trespassing on a set of tracks in Chester County was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Friday morning, officials announced.
According to authorities, the victim, who has not been identified, was struck by a Keystone Service train at around 9:15 a.m., CBS 3 reports.
About 100 people were aboard the train traveling west from Philadelphia to Harrisburg. They were held at the scene while officials investigated the incident, but there were no injuries to passengers or crew members.
SEPTA temporarily suspended service on a portion of the Paoli/Thorndale line, but resumed operations at around 1 p.m.
Thorndale: Service has resumed between Paoli and Malvern. Outbound train #531 is scheduled to depart Suburban at 12:45PM
