Police arrest suspect after man shot in Northeast Philadelphia

Victim in stable condition at Aria Torresdale Hospital

Philadelphia police have arrested a suspect and recovered a weapon after a man was shot Sunday afternoon in Northeast Philadelphia.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on the 2200 block of Disston Street, 6 ABC reports.

Officials said the victim, a 56-year-old man who has not been identified, was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to the leg. He was listed in stable condition. 

Police have not released the identity of suspect or announced any formal charges. A motive in the shooting remains under investigation.
