Gracie's Closet, named to memorialize Abington teenager Grace Packer, above, will collect new and gently used clothing and shoes in all sizes for domestic violence victims, foster care children and families experiencing medical emergencies.

A program has been established to remember and honor the life of Abington teen Grace Packer by helping others.

Called Gracie's Closet, a semi-annual drive will collect new and gently used clothing and shoes in all sizes for domestic violence victims, foster care children and families experiencing medical emergencies and must temporarily relocate.

In addition, the On Gracie's Wing's organization is collecting gift cards from discount department stores (Walmart, Target) to aid those families in need.

Donations can be mailed to: On Gracie's Wings, PO Box 240, Abington, PA 19001.

If you wish to participate, send an email to OnGraciesWings@gmail.com to schedule a pick a pickup for your donations.

The Abington community celebrated Grace's life during a memorial on January 16 at the New Life Church in Glenside. She was recalled as a girl with a kind heart, who looked out for and befriended the lonely kids in school.

Grace, 14, endured a lifetime of pain and loss, from sex abuse allegations that led her birthparents to lose custody when she was 3, to the indecent assault that sent her adoptive father to prison when she was 10.

In July, prosecutors say, an unimaginable rape-murder fantasy led her adoptive mother, Sara Packer, and her boyfriend Jacob Sullivan to kill Grace.
