The Eagles claimed Epps off of waivers from the Vikings in 2019, and his role steadily grew with the team until he finally became a full-time starter in 2022, when he finished third on the team with 94 tackles. He also had 6 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and no interceptions.

Report: Eagles LB T.J. Edwards 'plans to sign' with the Bears

T.J. Edwards had 159 tackles during the 2022 season (10 for loss), including nine games in which he had double-digit tackles. He also chipped in two sacks and seven pass breakups. Those 159 tackles were good for seventh in the NFL, and the next-closest Eagles tackler (Kyzir White) had 49 fewer tackles.

Javon Hargrave's departure will significantly strengthen the 49ers, the team the Eagles beat in the NFC Championship Game. That's a tough blow. However, on the bright side, at an average annual salary of $21 million, he'll likely count for a third-round pick in the compensatory pick formula.
