Brian Dawkins was better than your dumb favorite recent safety (except, maybe, Ed Reed)

It doesn't seem like that long ago that Brian Dawkins was forcing fumbles against Dallas and having them returned for touchdowns in the 2008 "44-6 game" against the Dallas Cowboys. That was his last season in Philly before heading to Denver for three season. In 2012, Dawkins retired. In 2017, he'll be eligible for the Hall of Fame.

Eagles release Riley Cooper

In February 2014, Cooper signed a five year extension worth $22,500,000, and for that the Birds sure did get themselves racial tension and some super-terrific blocking. Obviously, they didn't get much catching and running, as Cooper averaged 28.3 receiving yards per game in the 32 games he played since signing his deal.

DeMarco Murray for Nick Foles trade would make sense for the Eagles and Rams

Nick Foles and DeMarco Murray are essentially impossible to trade, unless you trade them for each other, or some other overpaid stiff. The value in making that trade wouldn't be in the player acquired, it would be that the Eagles could rid themselves of Murray and the Rams could rid themselves of Foles.

Schefter: Eagles won't use franchise tag on Sam Bradford; could be interested in Nick Foles

According to a report from Adam Schefter, the Eagles are not expected to place the franchise tag on Sam Bradford, although that doesn't rule out the possibility of re-signing him. Schefter also noted that the Eagles could have interest in bringing back Nick Foles, of all people.

Jimmy Kempski's NFL Super Bowl pick

The Broncos and Panthers are both in the Super Bowl because they have elite defenses. A quick look at the team stats (yards allowed) will tell you the Broncos finished first during the regular season, while the Panthers finished sixth. However, in my view, the Panthers had the best defense in the NFL in 2015. The biggest reason why -- takeaways.

Roger Goodell's new rule change proposal is idiotic

Late in the 2015 season, Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. absolutely lost his mind when Panthers CB Josh Norman got in his head. The video below shows the incident of that day by Beckham, but certainly not the only one:
