Muslim group calls for hate crime investigation into vandalism at Point Breeze mosque

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is calling for a hate crime investigation into the vandalism at the United Muslim Islamic Center in Philadelphia. Leaders at the Point Breeze mosque say its windows and doors were tagged with hateful graffiti on Wednesday, including messages that said 'Muslim men are stupid and dumb.' Police are investigating.

Professional ultimate frisbee team temporarily changes name to support Phillies' playoff run

The Philadelphia Phoenix, the city's professional ultimate frisbee team in the American Ultimate Disc League, has temporarily changed its name to the Gators in support of the Phillies' playoff series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The new name, the Gators, is a nod to the emotional support alligator who was denied entry into a Phillies game in September.

Fort Mifflin is regarded among the most haunted places in the United States. Among the ghosts purported to inhabit the military base on the Delaware River, which was built before the American Revolution and active until 1950, is the Faceless Man, a Union soldier named William H. Howe and the only person executed at the fort during the Civil War.

The treatment rate for mental health disorders among children and teens is just 38%, according to new research published in the Journal of American Medical Association. To improve access to treatment, researchers recommend primary care doctors be trained to assess and treat common mental health disorders, and telemedicine be better utilized.
