Owners of Philly moving company threatened workers and stole wages, district attorney says

A Philly moving company that went by Pro Tri-State Movers LLC and EJ Relocations LLC threatened workers, stole wages and may have scammed customers, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said. Krasner announced charges against Michael M. Tapia, 36, Juan Carlos Tapia, 40, and Juliana Santos-Tapia, 38, on Monday.

Josh S. Verne of Gladwyne swindled dozens of investors and business partners out of millions, federal prosecutors say. He also allegedly stole an employee's identity and forged documents. He was arrested Friday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

A home security camera recorded video of the incident at the former coal loading dock and current Instagram destination in the Port Richmond neighborhood. The U.S. Coast Guard was called to the scene, but the cause is unknown.
