Bucks County man gets prison for killing, burning pet dog on charcoal grill

Nikolay Lukyanchikov, 50, of Northampton Township, was sentenced to spend two to four years in state prison for fatally shooting his adopted pet greyhound and then burning the animal on a charcoal grill in his yard, Bucks County prosecutors announced Wednesday. Lukyanchikov will be prohibited from ever owning or caring for animals again once his prison term is completed.

At least 25 deer have jumped to their deaths from the U.S. Route 219 overpass in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania over the last several months. Residents in the Elk County community have sought help from PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Game Commission as the carcasses have piled up in residential areas.

A Pennsylvania Game Commission warden freed a buck whose antler was trapped in netting in Berks County by shooting off the antler with his long gun. Philadelphia restaurateur and chef Marc Vetri will open an Italian steakhouse called Fiore Rosso in Bryn Mawr in summer 2022. The Main Line restaurant will take over the former 915 W. Lancaster Ave. location of Enoteca Tredici, which closed last year.

Philadelphia police are investigating the shooting of a 17-year-old boy who was killed Thursday night while riding his bike in Kensington. The incident happened near the intersection of Second Street and Allegheny Avenue. Investigators said the teen may have been killed in a drive-by shooting.
