A 14-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being shot in the back Tuesday night in West Philadelphia, CBSPhilly reports.
It is no yet known if the victim, who hasn’t been identified, was the intended target. However, CBSPhilly reports that “at least eight shots were fired from a semiautomatic weapon" at the time of the incident.
Police also told CBSPhilly that eight shell casings were later found near the 200 block of North Simpson Street. The victim was reportedly struck around 9:25 p.m. on 60th Street.
The boy is currently being treated at a nearby hospital.
