1 dead, 1 injured in double shooting in West Philadelphia

One man is dead and another is injured after gunfire broke out Tuesday night in West Philadelphia, CBSPhilly reports.

The shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. at 62nd and Market streets.

According to police, a 25-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said a 36-year-old man, who was also taken to the hospital after being shot in the hip, is listed in stable condition.

Twenty-one spent shell casings were found at the scene and three semi-automatic handguns were used, according to police.

Officials said they are searching for at least two shooters. The motive remains unknown.
