Amtrak train strikes, kills EMT in Bucks County

A man struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Bucks County on Saturday has been identified by authorities as 27-year George Redner III, an EMT with the Bucks County Rescue Squad who Amtrak officials say was trespassing at the time of the incident.

According to NBC 10, the victim was walking along the tracks at about 10:15 a.m. at the Levittown-Tullytown station on SEPTA's Regional Rail line. Rednor was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one aboard the Amtrak Keystone train 663, which was carrying about 300 passengers, was injured.

Service between Croydon Station and Trenton Transportation Center was temporarily suspended, however trains resumed stops at Levittown at about 3:30 p.m.

Passengers were transferred to a nearby SEPTA train and taken to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia.

Rednor was reportedly set to begin classes at the Philadelphia Fire Academy.
