Elderly East Mt. Airy woman found dead in home with throat slashed

Police found victim's car Tuesday

Police have recovered the vehicle belonging to an 85-year-old woman who was found dead in her Philadelphia home Monday with her throat slashed.

According to NBC 10, the son of the victim, Regina Brunner, found his mother in her home on Roumfort Road in East Mount Airy at around 11 a.m. Monday following what appears to be a robbery. 

Philadelphia Police Homicide Division Capt. James Clark told NBC 10 the incident is under investigation.

On Tuesday, two officers reportedly recovered Brunner's 2007 silver Toyota Corolla on the 3100 block of Stillman Street in North Philadelphia, more than six miles from the victim's home. No arrests have been made at this time.
