N.J. girl hospitalized after school bus crash in Salem

Victim transported to Christiana Hospital with head injury

A 9-year-old girl was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after she was struck by a school bus in Salem, New Jersey.

According to authorities, the incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. near Walnut and Sinnitkson streets, 6ABC reports.

The victim, who was not identified, sustained a head injury in the crash and was transported to Christiana Hospital, authorities said.

Officials said she was responsive on the way to the hospital, but the severity of her injuries was not immediately clear.

There was no word on the driver of the bus and what led to the incident.
