Philadelphia police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon as a man was stepping out of his car.
Authorities say the 41-year-old victim, who has not been identified, was leaving his car on the 4000 block of East Cheltenham Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. when a gunman opened fire. The victim was struck several times before the gunman fled the scene.
The victim was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:36 p.m.
Police have not yet made an arrest and a weapon has not been recovered.
