Police arrest 14-year-old suspect in Strawberry Mansion double shooting

Two victims injured in Saturday shooting at Raymond Rosen Philadelphia Housing Authority complex

Philadelphia police have arrested a 14-year-old suspect in a double shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city.

At around 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, shots were fired at the Raymond Rosen Philadelphia Housing Authority Complex located on 23rd and Diamond streets. One victim, a 25-year-old man, was shot in the chest and shoulder and was listed in critical condition at Temple University hospital. A second victim, a 48-year-old man, was shot in the hand and forearm and listed in stable condition.

In the course of their investigation, police blocked off the courtyard at the Raymond Rosen apartments, according to NBC 10. At that time, they obtained a description of the young suspect, who was seen leaving a house not far from the site of the shooting. 

On Sunday, police announced that they had positively identified and arrested the suspect, who is being charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and related offenses. 

A motive in the shooting remains and clear and police would not release the identity of the suspect due to his status as a juvenile.
