Police: Man stabbed during attempted robbery in Southwest Philadelphia

Suspect sought after local business owner stabbed repeatedly

Philadelphia police are investigating after a 62-year-old business owner was stabbed repeatedly during an attempted robbery in Southwest Philadelphia Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. at Southwest Autotags on 6200 block of Dicks Avenue, 6 ABC reports.

According to police, the victim, identified as Patrick Spinosa, was stabbed 20 times in the head and upper torso. 

Spinosa was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, where he is in critical condition. 

No arrests have been made in the stabbing, but police are attempting to retrieve surveillance video from a nearby gas station to aid in their investigation.
