Philadelphia police are seeking public assistance in developing leads in solving a hit-and-run crash that happened nearly one year ago in the Holmesburg section of Northeast Philadelphia.

An unidentified truck traveling northbound on the 8100 block of State Road struck Theresa M. Pozzi while she was crossing westbound toward the mid-block bus stop at 5:20 p.m. on Dec. 23, 2014. Police say the vehicle, described as a black truck, was last seen fleeing northbound. Pozzi, 33, of the 600 block of Kimball Street, died at Aria-Torresdale Hospital at 6:38 p.m.

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $15,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible.

"There [were] a couple of people [who] stopped, but we've come up with nothing a year later," said Capt. John Wilczynski, commanding officer of the Accident Investigation Unit. "The friends and family are heartbroken still. The investigators are frustrated because we have little to go with. This is a tough way to investigate."

The only information police have stems from a grainy video showing an older, black pickup or tow truck with front-end damage.

"We're really reaching out to the public to see if we can get any help from the public," Wilczynski said. "Don't be afraid to call us with any information."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Accident Investigation Unit at 215-685-3180.
