Susan Kuklin's 'Beyond Magenta,' has frequently landed on the American Library Association's list of the most banned books in America and is one of the most challenged books of the 2010s. The nonfiction book tells the stories of six transgender teens as they struggle to understand their feelings of discomfort and alienation growing up. Despite criticism, it is not sexually-explicit.
