Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts narrowly avoided a throng of fans who fell to the field after a railing collapsed at FedExField following the team's 20-16 victory over the Washington Football Team on Sunday afternoon. The railing gave way as Hurts and other Eagles players and staff were heading to the tunnel. There were no serious injuries, but it's one of several incidents that have happened at FedExField this season.

Wildwood bar and restaurant Shamrock Beef & Ale closed last year after nearly 80 years at the Jersey Shore, but its original structure on Pacific Avenue will be relocated and preserved, owner Tom Gerace said. The building is a surviving example of Victorian Queen Anne resort architecture and first served as the Berwind Hotel. Gerace and preservationists in Wildwood worked with developer BG Capital to keep the property intact and move it to a new site nearby on Jan. 10.

Riverwards Produce, which has thrived in Fishtown, will open a second location in Old City in spring 2022, owner Vincent Finazzo said. The produce market began as a pop-up in 2016 before taking over the space of an old fire station on East Norris Street. The new location in Old City also will be an adaptive reuse project.

Inianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz has been placed on the team's reserve/COVID-19 list, virtually assuring that he will miss Sunday's pivotal matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Colts, 9-6, currently hold a wild card slot but have multiple teams right behind them vying for the playoffs with two weeks remaining in the season. The Philadelphia Eagles' odds of receiving the Colt's first round draft pick are not likely to be impacted by Wentz's absence.

Two men were fatally shot after an argument outside Club Risque in the Wissinoming section of the city early Tuesday morning, police said. The incident increased Philadelphia's record homicide total for the year to 550. No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation with homicide detectives,

Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith had a spectacular touchdown catch along the edge of the end zone in the Eagles' 34-10 win over the Giants on Sunday. The play was initially called a catch, but then ruled incomplete during an expedited review. Finally, the league looked at additional angles and restored the touchdown. NFL Senior Vice president of Officiating Walt Anderson explained that the odd sequence stemmed from a 'communication lapse.'

Philadelphia is reporting more COVID-19 cases than at any other point in the pandemic, with an average of 1,462 new cases per day over the last two weeks and a test positivity rate of 15.9%, the health department said. The United States is seeing record numbers of infections driven by the omicron variant, which has spread rapidly across the country over the last month.

Former SEPTA Transit Police officer Floyd Whitaker has been charged with simple assault and related offenses after an April 12 incident at Frankford Transportation Center, where he allegedly used his Taser repeatedly on bus rider who had refused to leave the vehicle and made verbal threats against other SEPTA employees.

Keotepie Khiev, 14, of Atlantic City, was among three people killed in a car crash at the Egg Harbor Toll Plaza on the Atlantic City Expressway on Sunday, Dec. 26, officials said. The other two victims were identified as 31-year-old Reachthon Khiev and 27-year-old Reachsieh Khiev, both of Manchester, New Hampshire. A 12-year-old girl who survived the crash and a toll plaza worker each suffered moderate injuries in the accident, which remains under investigation.

A viral video shows a goat whose noises sound a lot like comedian Jerry Seinfeld. The 67-year-old sitcom star is back in the spotlight these days as people binge the beloved NBC show on Netflix. A few experts on goats reviewed the video, which was shared on TikTok and Reddit, and confirmed that the noises the goat made are indeed authentic. This particular goat happens to sound like Jerry Seinfeld.
