Developer buys two 'Batman' rides for proposed hotel at Wonderland Pier site in Ocean City

Icona Resorts developer Eustace Mita revealed plans to include more children's amusement park rides in his proposal to build a 252-room hotel at the site of the shuttered Gillian's Wonderland Pier on the Ocean City Boardwalk. Mita said he purchased a pair of 'Batman'-themed rides that would join the giant Ferris wheel, carousel and wet boat rides that were beloved for decades at Wonderland Pier.

Philadelphia restaurateur Teddy Sourias will debut his latest concept, Mona, in a multi-level storefront at 1308 Chestnut St. on Friday. A beached whale found at Sunset Beach in Cape May Point on Tuesday was euthanized by wildlife officials, who determined the marine mammal had a low chance of survival in the wild. Whale stranding incidents have been down along the New Jersey coast this year, according to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine.

ChristianaCare plans to open a small hospital with an emergency room and a health center in Aston, Delaware County, in 2026. The North Face to close Center City store at the end of January after 15 years

Outdoor apparel brand the North Face will close its store at 1515 Walnut St. at the end of January, ending a 15-year run in Center City. Documents filed with the state show the company's lease at the store is ending. Denver-based parent company VF Corp. — which also owns Vans, Dickies and Timberland — said it has missed revenue forecasts over the past several years due to weak demand and too much inventory.

Lindenwold Castle in Ambler heads to auction with $1.5 million starting bid

The three-story Lindenwold Castle in Ambler, once home to 'Asbestos King' Richard Mattison, is up for auction with a starting bid of $1.5 million. The vacant mansion, modeled after the royal Windsor Castle, is surrounded by upscale residences. It recently underwent utility upgrades and has tentative plans approved fora buyer to renovate the castle into 11 apartments and ground-floor commercial space. The castle is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Six more women come forward in case against Bucks County man accused of drugging, raping his dates

Andrew Gallo, 40, of Bristol Township, allegedly met numerous women on dating sites and gave them spiked drinks before sexually assaulting them at his home, Bucks County prosecutors said. Gallo was initially charged in September based on reports from six women. At a hearing Monday, prosecutors said six more women have since come forward with similar accusations against Gallo.
