Police are looking to identify and locate the suspect wanted for a shooting at the Lancaster Hoagie City deli.

Police are seeking the public's help in finding a suspect wanted in a shooting at a Philadelphia deli.

In surveillance video released by police Monday, an unknown male can be seen entering the Lancaster Hoagie City deli at 600 North 40th Street on August 9 at 12:10 a.m.

The suspect grabs a 22-year-old male from behind, attempting to rob him.  The victim, who is armed and licensed to carry a firearm, fights off the offender. However, while doing so, his firearm falls, and the suspect grabs it.

During the struggle, the suspect fires one shot at the victim, but misses. He then flees the store with the victim chasing him.

Police describe the suspect as a black male in his early 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing a plaid checkered shirt with a red or orange colored shirt underneath and a red baseball cap.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPD TIP (773847).
