Showers and thunderstorm possible throughout region over the weekend

Dark skies and torrential rain in Philadelphia on Thursday broke a long spell of sunny weather and extremely hot days.

The weekend ahead figures to bring some uncertainty, so it may be wise to have a backup plan in place for outdoor activities that could get rained out.

Philadelphia

Sunday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then a chance of showers between 8pm and 2am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 57. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Jersey Shore

Sunday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Rehoboth Beach
