Police locate woman after feared abduction at Philadelphia Sunoco

Police say woman was led by family member in connection to personal matter

Philadelphia police have located a woman who they feared may have been abducted Halloween night outside a Sunoco gas station in West Philadelphia.

Authorities became concerned after the woman, whose name has not been released, was grabbed and pulled into a minivan around 10:30 p.m. at the station on 52nd and Spruce Streets, NBC 10 reports.

A surveillance video showed the woman being dragged over to a gold, early 2000's model minivan, where she engaged in a struggle with the suspect. At one point, the woman was placed in a headlock and shoved into the passenger seat of the vehicle.

On Sunday evening, Philadelphia police issued a statement confirming that the woman had been located and identified. The incident arose after the woman became upset and fled from a separate vehicle in connection to a personal matter.

Police say the video, alarming in the absence of context, shows family members leading her to a car where she would be taken home to a safe and supportive environment.
