Ben & Jerry scooping for Bernie Sanders in Rittenhouse Square, Kensington

Ice cream company's founders are supporting the Vermont senator ahead of next week's Pennsylvania primary election

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, co-founders of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, will be scooping ice cream at two Philly events Wednesday on behalf of fellow Vermonter Bernie Sanders.

The duo will be ladling out the flavor, Bernie’s Yearning, and explaining their support for the U.S. senator and Democratic candidate for president beginning at noon in Rittenhouse Square.

The event will last just an hour.

Later on Wednesday, Cohen and Greenfield will be at Philadelphia Brewing Co., 2440 Frankford Ave., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. doing the same thing.

The second event requires guests to RSVP here or by contacting Ashley Lynch at 802-651-0193 or ashley.p.lynch@gmail.com.

The pair also planned to appear Tuesday evening in Wilmington, Delaware, for a similar event.

On Monday, Cohen and Greenfield were among those arrested in Washington, D.C., as part of the Democracy Spring protest about the influence of money on politics.
