Twin toddlers slept though what was a terrifying ordeal for their loved ones when the car they were sleeping in was stolen in North Philadelphia.

The incident happened Monday at around 11:30 p.m., CBSPhilly reports.

According to the report, the children's father left the boys sleeping in the backseat with the car running while he ran into a Chinese restaurant at Broad Street and Chew Avenue to pick up a takeout order. When he came out, the car and its special cargo were gone.

Authorities reportedly located the vehicle, which was left running, at 15th and Widener streets about 10 minutes after it was reported missing. The children were still inside, unharmed and asleep in the back.

Police are still investigating the incident.
