Aramark and Starr Restaurants have teamed up on a new strategic collaboration that will bring Philadelphia restaurateur Stephen Starr's food concepts and culinary expertise to venues across the United States. The two Philadelphia companies announced that the deal will extend to clients in higher education, business dining, sports and entertainment, convention centers, cultural attractions and other food service divisions.

Monoclonal antibody injections safe and effective for COVID-19 treatment, Pittsburgh researchers find

Injections of monoclonal antibodies to treat COVID-19 appear to be just as effective as IV infusions, according to a clinical trial from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC. The antibody cocktail is most effective when used in patients within five days of developing COVID-19 symptoms, but IV administration has led to delays in care due to staffing shortages during surge periods.

Spirit Airlines will launch seven new nonstop routes from Philadelphia International Airport in 2022, adding daily service to New Orleans, Nashville and Houston in addition to Caribbean locations in Montego Bay and Aguadilla. New routes also will be added from PHL to Punta Cana, Mexico and Oakland/San Francisco.

Dieunerst Collin became internet famous at nine years old for appearing in widely-shared meme video filmed by a stranger at a Popeye's restaurant. Years later, Collin has won a New Jersey state football championship with East Orange High School. He tweeted a photo after the championship game referencing the viral meme, which once bothered him and made him feel bullied.

Man, 70, punched during attempted robbery in Fashion District Philadelphia bathroom, police say

A 70-year-old man was punched in the face when three teens attempted to rob him inside a Fashion District Philadelphia bathroom on Dec. 2, 2021. The suspect have not been identified. One of the teens brandished a gun during the incident. The man was punched in the face after he told the alleged assailants he didn't have any cash. He suffered a cut that required stitches.

Man charged with setting Bucks County house fire that killed roommate's father

Christopher Gillie, 61, of Lackawanna County, allegedly stole his roommate's car and used it to drive to her parents' home in Bucks County, where he started a fire on Sunday morning that killed her father, 81-year-old Julius Drelick, prosecutors said. Phyllis Drelick managed to escape the home, but could not help her husband, whose disability prevented him from leaving when the fire short-circuited a chairlift. Gillie is charged with homicide and multiple related offenses in the incident.

Jeff Garlin spoke with Vanity Fair to address complaints of inappropriate behavior on the set of the long-running ABC sitcom "The Goldbergs," in which he stars as Murray Goldberg. Garlin, who also has a prominent role on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," acknowledged that he has been the subject of HR investigations but denied that he has crossed lines with his colleagues.

Grand Lux Cafe to close at King of Prussia Mall

The Grand Lux Cafe will close at the King of Prussia Mall at the end of January 2022 after six years at the location. The restaurant is owned by The Cheesecake Factory, which also has a restaurant at suburban Philadelphia mall, along with North Italia, another Cheesecake Factory property. The last day for the Grand Lux Cafe, 160 N. Gulph Rd., will be Jan. 31.

Road rage video shows man assaulting woman in Newtown Township parking lot

The Newtown Township Police Department in Bucks County is searching for a man who assaulted a woman during a road rage incident at a PetSmart parking lot on Nov. 21. Investigators released a video of the incident that shows the male driver of a Tesla Model X shove a woman to the ground before speeding off from the scene at 2600 S. Eagle Road.

Philly man charged in fatal hit-and-run in Cherry Hill on Thanksgiving

Tabreia Ewing, 30, was fatally struck by a car on Route 70 in Cherry Hill on Thanksgiving. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and Ewing's body was not found until the following morning. Authorities have charged 29-year-old Michael Rodgers, of Philadelphia, in connection with the deadly incident.
