Bucks County woman pleads guilty to killing pizza shop partner

A Bucks County woman who fatally shot her partner in the head two years ago pleaded guilty to third-degree murder Monday. Anna Maria Tolomello, 50, killed 65-year-old Giovanni Gallina at their home in Hilltown Township in March 2022. Gallina was her longtime partner and co-owner of the former Pina's Pizza in Chalfont.

Frontier Airlines to add nonstop flights from Philly to Buffalo, Norfolk

Frontier Airlines will debut nonstop flights in June from Philadelphia International Airport to Buffalo, New York, and Norfolk, Virginia, adding two more destinations to a growing list of cities the budget carrier serves out of PHL. With the new routes, Frontier will serve a total of 42 destinations out of Philadelphia, second-most among airlines behind American Airlines.

Delco Woods, the park planned on Don Guanella land, could use old buildings for mental health services

As Delaware County develops a plan for its 213-acre Delco Woods park, officials have proposed using the existing buildings of the former Don Guanella school for mental health services. Council members debated the plan at a meeting Wednesday and dispelled rumors that the buildings could be used to house immigrants. The county acquired the sprawling Marple Township property, formerly owned by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, using eminent domain in 2021.

Jersey Shore beach sweeps cleared 176,000 pieces of trash last year — including weird stuff

Volunteers combed New Jersey's beaches last year and picked up more than 176,000 pieces of litter and other debris, collecting an assortment of unusual items as part of an annual program led by the environmental group Clean Ocean Action. Among the heaps of litter and lost belongings picked up last year, 79.16% of the debris collected was either plastic or foam plastic — the first time that number has fallen below 80% since 2015.
