Suspect utters threatening message during Northeast Philly Wawa robbery

Police are seeking a suspect involved in the robbery of a Wawa in Northeast Philly.

Police are seeking a suspect involved in the robbery of a Wawa in Northeast Philadelphia.

Surveillance video shows an unknown male entering a Wawa store at 6935 Castor Ave. in Oxford Circle at 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police say the suspect approached the register and lifted his shirt to display the handle of a handgun, telling the 27-year-old male employee, “We can do this the easy way or the hard way."

According to police, the employee gave the offender an unknown amount of money from the three cash registers. The suspect then fled the store on foot and was last seen east on Tyson Avenue.

Police describe the suspect as a 20- to 30-year-old black male around 6 feet tall and 200-220 pounds with a goatee and mustache. He was wearing dark-colored jeans rolled up, black and white sneakers, a black T-shirt, black baseball style hat with a white towel underneath and was armed with a handgun inside his waistband.
