Philadelphia videographer Cory J. Popp just released the fifth installment in his beautifully shot 'Uncover Philly' series, in which he explores the sights and sounds of the city's most compelling locales.
Previously, Popp has trekked through the Reading Viaduct Tunnel, documented the enduring charm of Fishtown, captured Philadelphia in springtime bloom, and hopped aboard SEPTA's Broad Street Line to showcase Crowd Pleazerz, a family of breakdancers.
The latest project takes us through the illumined spectacle of Spruce Street Harbor Park, an urban oasis now open to guests for its sophomore season running May through September. If you're a fan of bright lights, lounging, life-size board games, and food and drinks from Philly's best vendors, then you probably want to drop by soon to enjoy the festivities, or just unwind.
40 hammocks hang beneath the park's light canopy, which has nightly shows, and there's also a full boardwalk with arcades and concessions. Live music performances will be held on a monthly basis.
Hours at the park are as follows:
Monday-Thursday - 11 a.m. - 11 p.m
Friday-Saturday - 11 a.m. 1 a.m.
Sunday 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.
