Police made an arrest Tuesday in connection with the Feb. 20 fatal stabbing of a transgender woman in North Philadelphia. Authorities say they have a 24-year-old female suspect in custody.

The name of the suspect, who faces murder and conspiracy charges, is not yet being released due to an ongoing investigation. Police say more arrests are imminent.

Responding officers found Maya Young, 25, lying on the 4800 block of Penn Street, suffering from stab wounds to the neck and chest, around midnight.

She was rushed to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.

A $20,000 reward had been offered for information leading the arrest and conviction of Young's killer.

Following the news of Young's death, the Human Rights Campaign released a statement mourning the loss and noting the string of murders of transgender people across the country in the past few months.
