Mychal Kendricks is on the trading block, #AsExpected.

In a thoroughly unsurprising report from Jason LaConfora of CBS, the Eagles are shopping ILB Mychal Kendricks, and are reportedly asking for a second round pick in return.

Last week, we noted that Kendricks was likely to be in another uniform this season:

The Eagles traded for Kiko Alonso and re-signed DeMeco Ryans to a contract extension. That leaves Kendricks' future with the team in doubt. In 2014, the Eagles suffered a number of losses at ILB during the season. They lost Ryans to an Achilles tear mid-season, Najee Goode for the season Week 1, and Kendricks missed four games.
That has led some to ponder the idea of simply keeping Alonso, Ryans and Kendricks for depth purposes, but the Eagles are in decent shape at ILB, in terms of depth. Goode will return this season, and the Eagles added Brad Jones as a free agent signing. Kendricks is in the final year of his contract, and if you can flip him for a valuable asset at another position before he bolts in free agency in a year, then go ahead ahead do it if it makes your roster better as a whole.

Kendricks and Evan Mathis were absent from voluntary workouts this spring. Kendricks was a second round pick (46th overall) of the Eagles in 2012. He struggled mightly his rookie season, was up and down in 2013, and really started to come into his own as a quality starter in 2014. Any team trading for Kendricks will likely also look to sign him to a contract extension, which makes the price of a second round pick rather steep.
