Facebook headline about Pa. Turnpike is painfully unnecessary

You probably already knew this

The Trending section to the right of your Facebook feed can be a helpful tool to keep up with news that's tailored to where you live and what you're interested in.

And sometimes, it can be so utterly useless it's comical. That was the case Friday when, right before many were getting ready to leave for the Jersey Shore or camping, many Philadelphians saw this on their feed:

A couple of things make this hilarious:

1. No duh. Saying there's going to be traffic on the Pennsylvania Turnpike during the Fourth of July weekend is like saying there's sand at the beach or the sky is blue. Of course, there's going to be traffic on the turnpike.

2. At the end, it says "report says," as if someone had a scoop that there was going to be traffic on the highway and broke the story.

Keeping with Facebook's theme, let's look at a few other headlines you might see this weekend:

• Fireworks: Many are expected to be set off Monday evening, according to New York Times.

• America: Birthday coming up, historians confirm.

• Slightly buzzed: You are after third Bud Light from cooler, friend alleges.

Hot dogs: Plenty of them left if you're still hungry, dad claims.

And remember, there's going to be traffic. Have a happy Fourth of July weekend!
