Interactive 'Rocky Horror' screenings visit Ritz at the Bourse

Just in time for Halloween

Just in time for many kooky and creepy Halloween activities, annual interactive screenings of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" are back. The Ritz at the Bourse will host performances by Transylvanian Nipple Productions Fridays Oct. 16 and 23 at midnight.

These annual screenings of the 1975 cult classic film come complete with an element of audience participation. In the 40 years since its release, it has become custom for attendees to bring a series of props for wearing and tossing into the air during certain points of the film. While different theaters and productions have different prop policies, generally the list of props includes rice, toilette paper and toast. For these two TNP shows, prop bags will be available for an extra $2.

The TNP shows at the Ritz are full "shadow cast" performances, meaning actors dressed as the film's characters will pantomime along with the film in front of the screen. They will also host a pre-show, costume contests and other fun activities for attendees.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the Ritz at the Bourse box office.
