Get ready to shred - kind of. Johnny Brenda's is hosting a U.S. Air Guitar competition qualifier Friday, July 10, for all the would-be guitarists out there. Former champions will play host for this night of intense, fake competition.

Special guests and judges will be on hand to entertain and make sure everyone follows the rules. Air guitarists will perform a song of their choosing with their invisible instruments. Their performances will then be graded on the same scale as Olympic figure skating competitions, based on technical skill and stage presence.

The top three guitarists of the evening will move on to the U.S. Air Guitar Eastern Conference Championships in Washington, D.C. and compete for a chance to move on to the National Championship. The National Championship winner will move on to the 20th Air Guitar World Championships in Finland in August. This is serious stuff.
