Prosecutors: Man shoots self after fight outside Cherry Hill bar

Other man charged with trying to pick up firearm

A brawl outside a Cherry Hill bar early Sunday morning led to one man shooting himself, according to prosecutors.

Authorities announced Sunday that the fight happened around 2 a.m. in the parking lot of the Craft House and Beer Garden on Route 70.

While officers were trying to break up the scuffle, a woman jumped onto the back of 23-year-old Daniel Allen Jr. of Pennsauken, prosecutors say.

Allen fled and a gunshot was heard. Police say when they found the man, he told them he had shot himself.

He was hospitalized for a gunshot wound to his lower body.

Another man, 24-year-old Joshua Haughton, also of Penssauken, allegedly tried to pick up the gun off the ground.

Haughton has been charged with obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence while Allen has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Detective Paul Audino of the Camden County Prosecutor’s at 856-225-8449 or Cherry Hill Police Detective Jeff Ruttler at 856-488-7828.
