Newark Airport officials arrest man allegedly hiding knife in underwear

Authorities say he first had the weapon in his carry-on, then transferred it to his body

An Arkansas man was arrested Monday after he allegedly tried to pass through Newark Liberty International Airport security with a knife concealed in his underwear.

According to the Asbury Park Press, the man, identified by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as 29-year-old Sean M. Curry, allegedly entered a security checkpoint at the New Jersey airport with a knife among his carry-on items, at which time authorities notified him the weapon would have to be in a checked bag.

A short time later, he allegedly returned to the security checkpoint with the same two-bladed pocket knife tucked in his underwear, a release from the TSA said.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police arrested the man, who was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.
